Important: When approaching the airport listen to the tower radio on 118.10 to find out which runway is in use, because when Runway 24 is in use (66%) the 06 Location is absolutely useless and opposite.

For both locations on the 24 leave the Autoroute Trier Luxembourg immediately after passing the the runway bridge at the entrance "Cargo Center". Entering a little circuit you enter a small road after the entrance of Luxcargo.

===Runway 24 Location 1 (afternoon)===

On right hand after about 30 meters you will find the entrance to a field where employees of the cargo center usually leave their cars. You will face a closed gate to the runway. It is better to leave the entrance to either left or right, because parking your car in front of the gate may be the reason for problems with the police. By using a ladder this location is very good for inbound flights on runway 24 and for planes starting at runway 24. Bad light conditions before 2 pm.

===Runway 24 Location 2 (morning)===

Going back to the small road where you came from and heading to the right you drive along the airfield fence. Drive under the runway bridge not leaving the road to the left but continuing an little uphill you stay on this road for about 500 meters, going a little downhill, then on the right side in the forest is a little parking area. Leave your car there and follow the small way to the runway. When reaching the runway fence after about 300 meters turn to the left. Ladder required for pictures of incoming or starting planes on runway 24. Good light conditions until 2 pm.

===Runway 06 Location 3 (afternoon)===

For this location leave the Autoroute Trier Luxembourg at "Airport". Pass the Banking buildings enter the first large circuit, drive along the airport buildings for about 2,5 KM after passing a "Norsk Bank" on the left the road goes a little uphill, when reaching the hill you have to go immediately to the left entering a small street without any Signs. This location is for the traffic on runway 06. No ladder required for inbound flights. A unique chance (at least in Europe!) to get as close as about 15 meters to the wings of starting planes on the taxiway by using a ladder. When you are at the fence and close to the starting planes be careful with the exhaust of the 747 (they produce a lot of exhaust) don't breath in!

RUA SANTA CATARINA, a street about 100 meter away from the runway just about 50 meters higher than the runway. Best place for Inbound traffic is at the beginning of the road. Park your car at the first possible place on the right side. Then go about 50 mtr. downhill where you can find a concrete box ( whatever it may be) You can climb and stand on this box and get very close pictures of landing planes. Another possibility is at the opposite side of the road, where you can find a bar, climb up the hill and get planes still in the air ( and sometimes see the fear in the face of the pilot,because Funchal is not easy to land!) while standing on the concrete box you get them touching the runway

Drive under the runway brigde not leaving the road to the left but continuing an little uphill you stay on this road for about 500 meters, going a litte downhill, then on the right side in the forest is a litte parking area. Leave your car there and follow the small way to the runway. When reaching the runway fence after about 300 meters turn to the left. Ladder reqired for picures of incoming or starting planes on runway 24. Good light conditions until 2 pm.

For both Locations leave the autoroute Trier Luxembourg immediately after passing the the runway bridge at the entrance "Cargo Center" Entering a little circuit you enter a small road after the entrance of luxcargo.

Location 1 (afternoon light )

On right hand after about 30 meters you will find the entrance to a field where usually employees of the cargo center leave their cars. You will face a closed gate to the runway. it is better to leave te entrance to either left or right, because parking your car in front of the gate may be the reason for problems with the police. By using a ladder this location is very good for inbound flights on runway 24 and for planes starting at runway 24.
Bad light conditions before 2 pm !

Location 2 (morning)

Going back to the small road where you came from and heading to the right you drive along the airfield fence.
