==Official Spotting Locations==

===Airside Access===

Sharjah Airport has over the years offered airside access at the cost of 350,-AED (95,-USD) and this is the only way to get to see all there is to see. Access includes photo permit on all ramps excluding the Police (Helicopter) Ramp and the Sheikhs Ramp (for the A320)
The airport have however been closed to visitors due to construction activities. Latest indications, as of winter 2007, is that the airport will open again for visitors during 2007.

If you are going airside its a good idea to do the maintenance ramps first thing as the light is best then (around 8-11ish). This can be done in a couple of hours. By this time the sun will also be much better for runway and taxiway shots (the fire station is a good spot roughly at the middle of the runway). In late afternoon the sun will have moved round and will be good for another go on the ramps. The transport offered by the airport is useless most of the time, as they are lazy and only drive when they feel like it. Don't wait for them just walk around (its good exercise too ;o). Just stay within the proscribed areas and they will let you wonder about as you please.

To find out if SHJ has opened for airside passes in time for your visit you can contact their pass office on this address:

pass@sharjahairport.ae
==Other Spotting Locations==

===Sharjah Park===

If you can´t get airside, Sharjah Park is the best option for a safe place to observe and take photos from. It is located near the threshold of RWY30. The main road from Sharjah town to the airport takes you there, roughly two miles after passing the terminal (on your left) you will see it on the right-hand side of the road.

Its a nice quiet park with a big mound from where you can see and photograph all arrivals on RWY30 or departures on RWY12. Best time is in the afternoon when the sun is behind you and most arrivals (if not all) arrive on RWY30. Unfortunately the park is not always open. Friday it is open all day though and is quite busy as it is a day off for most Muslims just like our Sunday! Traffic is a bit slow but there are always some goodies worth waiting for and afternoons always give almost all the Air Arabia fleet returning to SHJ. Some afternoons I have seen 4 IL76´s within 2-3 hours and some of them doing some very interesting VFR approaches coming downwind and literally throwing the aircraft around on 3miles final, followed by a landing halfway down the runway.

==Locations to Avoid==

If the park is not open the brave can take pictures from the park car park outside. I have done this for three years without getting caught, but always stayed in the safety of my car and being VERY discrete. I have heard of others having to spend an afternoon at SHJ Police station. The SHJ Police knows of aviation spotters (due to the airside passes) and hence deal with plane spotters in a friendly manner.

The cafeteria offers good views of much of the apron and although facing the sun decent shots can be obtained, and that without anyone being too bothered about it. Order a drink or a meal (dirt cheap) and you will be left to do your thing. Downside is that traffic is damn slow here. However since RAK has now got the first aircraft for thier national airline it is bound to have improved.

Berlin Tegel International Airport "Otto Lilienthal" is the primary commercial airport for Berlin. No airline maintains a hub there. Lufthansa is the dominant carrier, but there are also numerous flights by Air Berlin and DBA. The vast majority of scheduled flights are to points within Europe; currently only Delta Air Lines and Continental Airlines provide transoceanic service; both to New York City in the United States. The airport has two parallel runways, 08L/26R and 08R/26L. Approximately seventy percent of operations use 26L & 26R when the prevailing winds are from the west. 08L & 08R are most frequently used in clear weather when prevailing winds are from the east.

==Official Spotting Locations==

===Observation Deck===

The observation deck can be found on top of the Terminal Building. It goes completely around the Building, so you can watch perfectly the whole apron. The deck is open from 10AM to 6PM from April to September, and from 10AM to 4PM at other times of year, but may be closed when the weather is poor. The entrance fee is 2€.

The observation deck offers good views of the runways and excellent departure shots from all runways are possible. Lighting is generally good because the runways are located to the north of the observation deck.
===The Spotter Hill===
The Hill can be found East of the Airport, at the intersection of Taxiways PE, RE, SM and SE. Near the fence of the airport, there are very good spotting conditions. When Runways 26L and 26R are in use, all aircraft taxi along the Hill.
===Observation platforms===
Dusseldorf has two large observation platform.

The first platform can be found at the terminal. It offers view over the terminal area and planes taxiing. When planes come in from the west you can see the planes line up on the nearby runway, and land at the far runway. A nice aviation store can be found just outside the platform.

*AirTeamImages.com sample photo: [http://www.airteamimages.com/39228.html]

The second platform can be found at the long distance train station (not to be mistaken with the local train station in the terminal!). Here you are just as close by to the planes, but there is no clutter at all. Therefor this place is preferable. When planes come in from the east they land on the far away runway, and take-off from the nearby runway. Lining up is very close by as well.
==Other Spotting Locations==

===Location===
Just outside the train station you can see the police hangar. There is a crash gate you can poke your lense through to photograph any planes that may be outside. The local police wing has Bo-105s.

==Locations to Avoid==

===Location===

==Regular Traffic==
As it is a German airport of course you'll find a lot of '''Lufthansa''' (B737, A320, CRJ, ATR). Also international airlines like '''Finnair''' (A319), '''British Airways''' (A319, A320, B757, B767), '''Air France''' (B737, A318, A319, A320, ERJ, CRJ), '''Iberia''' (A320), '''Aeroflot''' (TU154, A319, A320), '''Emirates''' (B777), '''Alitalia''' (ERJ), '''LOT''' (ERJ), '''CSA''', '''Austrian''', '''Scandinavian''' and much more, check the flightplans at the official website.
There are also a lot of charter airlines:
'''LTU'''(A320, A321, A330) it's their base, '''Hapag Lloyd''' (B737), '''Air Berlin''' (B737, A320), '''Condor''' (A320, B757, B767)
and also low-cost-carrier like '''Germanwings''' (A319, A320)

From the upcoming summer-season '''Delta Airlines''' (B767) will take up daily flights to ATL, and '''Norwegian''' (B737) and '''FlyMe''' (B737) are new candidates to serve Scandinavia.
===Flyvergrillen===

Near the 22R threshold. A superb little burger bar that serves beer! You're higher than the taxiway in front of you so shooting anything that passes is easy. It's nearly backlit all day but on long summers days it is excellent from around four a clock and untill sunset. It takes around 30 minutes to walk from the terminal area, go past the domestic terminal (Terminal 1) and when you reach Gate Gourmet, turn left and it just straight ahead. Opens at 10.30 and closes around ten in the evening (during the summer anyway).
===Runway 22L Approach===

Located on Kystvejen/Coastal Road. Catch them as they come in over the sea. A short walk from the terminal, taking you past SAS tecnical services hangars and a view over thier apron. takes about 15 minutes.

Located on Englandsvej. To get here follow directions to Flyvergrillen (as described above) - instead of goind to the dead of the road end, where Flyvergrillen is located, follow the round as it turns right. Continue on this road untill you reach the junction - turn right and you will see the runway across the road (which is in a tunnel). If you go under and through the tunnel some very nice shots can obtained. In the late afternoon go back to the otherside of the tunnel.
You cannot park a car close to tunnel and you do have to negotiate a few lampposts.

Located on Kystvejen/Coastal Road. Catch them as they come in over the sea. Follow directions to RWY22L approach point and then continue another 2 kilometers, past the cargo facilities and the old SAS Commuter hangar. Takes at least thirty minutes and since this runway usually only is used in high winds make sure to bring warm clothes. There are no shelter anywhere near either. There are nowhere to park a car either.

===Runway 12 Approach===

Located on Amager Landevej just next to the Gate Gourmet facility west of the airport terminals. See directions for Flyvergrillen as well as this spot is on the way there. As with Runway 30 this runway is only used in high winds. This location is in urban area and as such there are shelter from the wind several places (bus-stops, petrolstation etc.).

===Runway 04L Approach===

Located on Tømmerupvej. This location is the typical approach shot-location. It is located quite a distance from the airport terminal and in nice and quite country-side settings. To get here follow directions to Flyvergrillen (as described above) - instead of goind to the dead of the road end, where Flyvergrillen is located, follow the round as it turns right. Continue on this road untill you come across the approach lights. It is about 4 kilometers from Flyvergrillen.
There are not really any places to avoid. There are lots of local planespotters and they usually gets left to do what they please. Avoid stepladders near the perimeter fence as that will for sure trigger a visit by the Police.

==Regular Traffic==

SAS´ entire MD80 and Airbus fleet is based here. SAS B737s are rare. SAS Dash 8´s will bore most people after an hour as they arrive and depart in an never ending stream. Most SAS wide body movements (both arrivals and departures) take place mid afternoon.
Other based fleets are Cimber Air (CRJ´s & ATR´s), Sterling B737s, Air Greenland B757 & A330 and Atlantic Airways 146´s.

The baltic countries have a strong presence with thier airlines at CPH and occasionally bring in thier smaller aircraft too.

Widebodies that fly into CPH on a regular basis include: Thai 744 - SIA 772 & 744F - Korean 744F - Air China 744F - China Cargo M11F - MYT A330 - Iran Air A310 - PIA A310 & 772 - DLH A300 - Delta 767.
===Terminal 1 - Food Court===

There are no official spotting locations, but you can see part of the concourse from the food court above the terminal 1 check in. The view is limited with the concourse blocking out all runway activities and the interesting Terminal 2 area. Pictures can be taken from here without attracting unwanted attention. Good advise is to be discrete anyway.

===Runway 30 approach===

You can do landing shots at DXB, but stay in a car and use discretion. RWY12 is usually used in the morning and until mid day. There is no really good spot for arrivals or departures and it just isn't very safe to hang around RWY12 approach as the area is very busy industrial area and has several police stations. I have done it, but kept shifting position, most with a very limited view of the approach making things even more difficult.

Runway 30 arrivals are much safer and easier to catch, as theres a small patch of desert near the villa village of Mirdif which is good and at some distance to nosy people. I have used this spot all my three years there and I know other people are still using it without any hassle. Again use discretion and you should be fine.

===Perimeter Fence===

It seems that DXB Police is patrolling all areas within a certain distance to the perimeter fence. Stay at a distance when observing or photographing and use discretion. Do not hang around the perimeter fence.

==Regular Traffic==

==Facilities and Transportation==

A car is an absolute must especially if you venture out during the summer (which should be avoided - its too hot). Even in the autumn and spring the air conditioner is a dear friend. The spots are also difficult (if not impossible) to reach by public transportation.

===Airside Access===

===Sharjah Park===

If the park is not open the brave can take pictures from the park car park outside. The SHJ Police knows of aviation spotters (due to the airside passes) and hence deal with plane spotters in a friendly matter.
===Airside Access===

==Other Spotting Locations==

===Terminal 1 - Food Court===

AirTeamImages.com sample photo: [http://www.airteamimages.com/26210.html]

===Runway 30 approach===

===Runway 30 approach===

===Flyvergrillen===

The end of Pier B (T2/T3) provides a view of taxiing aircraft, however it faces south so the sun is a problem.

===Runway 22L Approach===

Located on Kystvejen/Coastal Road. Catch them as they come in over the sea. A short walk from the terminal, taking you past SAS tecnical services hangars and a view over thier apron. takes about 15 minutes.
{{anetlink|953996}}
{{anetlink|956658}}

===Runway 22R Rotation point===

===Runway 30 approach===

===Runway 12 Approach===

===Runway 04L Approach===

==Locations to Avoid==

There are not really any places to avoid. There are lots of local planespotters and they usually gets left to do what they please. Avoid stepladders near the perimeter fence as that will for sure trigger a visit by the Police.

==Regular Traffic==

===Runway 30 approach===

===Runway 12 Approach===

===Runway 04L Approach===

==Locations to Avoid==

There are not really any places to avoid. There are lots of local planespotters and they usually gets left to do what they please. Avoid stepladders near the perimeter fence as that will for sure trigger a visit by the Police.

==Regular Traffic==

Most of the common european airlines fly into CPH.

===Flyvergrillen===

==Official Spotting Locations==

===Flyvergrillen===

{{anetlink|705857}}

==Other Spotting Locations==

===Airside===

The end of Pier B (T2/T3) provides a view of taxiing aircraft, however it faces south so the sun is a problem.

===Runway 22L Approach===

Located on Kystvejen/Coastal Road. Catch them as they come in over the sea. A short walk from the terminal, taking you past SAS tecnical services hangars and a view over thier apron. takes about 15 minutes.
{{anetlink|953996}}
{{anetlink|956658}}

===Runway 30 approach===

===Runway 12 Approach===

===Runway 04L Approach===

==Locations to Avoid==

There are not really any places to avoid. There are lots of local planespotters and they usually gets left to do what they please. Avoid stepladders near the perimeter fence as that will for sure trigger a visit by the Police.

==Regular Traffic==

Most of the common european airlines fly into CPH.
It takes about 30 minutes to walk from the terminal, go past the domestic terminal and when you reach Gate Gourmet, turn left and it just straight ahead. Opens at 10.30.
==Other Spotting Locations==

===Airside===

The end of Pier B (T2/T3) provides a view of taxiing aircraft, however it faces south so the sun is a problem.

===Runway 22L Approach===

Located on Kystvejen/Coastal Road. Catch them as they come in over the sea. A short walk from the terminal, taking you past SAS tecnical services hangars and a view over thier apron. takes about 15 minutes.
{{anetlink|953996}}
{{anetlink|956658}}

===Runway 30 approach====

===Runway 12 Approach===

===Runway 04L Approach===

===Terminal 1 - Food Court===

There are no official spotting locations, but you can see part of the concourse from the food court above the terminal 1 check in. The view is limited with the concourse blocking out all runway activities and the interesting Terminal 2 area. Pictures can be taken from here without attracting unwanted attention. Good advise is to be descrete anyway.

==Other Spotting Locations==

===Runway 30 approach===

You can do landing shots at DXB, but stay in a car and use descretion. RWY12 is usually used in the morning and untill mid day. Theres no really good spot for arrivals or departures and it just aint very safe to hang around RWY12 approach as the area is very busy industrial area and has several police stations. I have done it, but kept shifting position, most with a very limited view of the approach making things even more difficult.
Runway 30 arrivals are much safer and easier to catch. as theres a small patch of desert near the villa village of Mirdif which is good and at some distance to nosy people. I have used this spot all my three years there and I know other people are still using it without any hassle. Again use descretion and you should be fine.

==Locations to Avoid==

===Location===

It seems that DXB Police is patrolling all areas within a certain distance to the perimeter fence. Stay at a distance when observing or photographing and use descretion. Do not hang around the perimeter fence.

==Regular Traffic==
==Facilities and Transportation==

A car is an absolute must especilly if you venture out during the summer (which should be avoided - its too hot). Even in the autumn and spring the aircondition is a dear friend. The spots are also difficult (if not impossible) to reach by public transportation.

==Official Spotting Locations==

===Airside Access===

Sharjah Airport has over the years offered airside access at the cost of 350,-AED (95,-USD) and this is the only way to get to see all there is to see. Access includes photo permit on all ramps excluding the Police (Helicopter) Ramp and the Sheikhs Ramp (for the A320)
The airport have however been closed to visitors due to construction activites. Latest indications, as of winter 2007, is that the airport will open again for visitors during 2007.

If you are going airside its a good idea to do the maintenance ramps first thing as the light is best then (around 8-11ish). This can be done in a couple of hours. By this time the sun will also be much better for runway and taxiway shots (the firestation is a good spot roughly at the middle of the runway). In late afternoon the sun will have moved round and will be good for another go on the ramps. The transport offered by the airport is useless most of the time, as they are lazy and only drive when they feel like it. Dont wait for them just walk around (its good exercise too ;o). Just stay within the proscribed areas and they will let you wonder about as you please.

To find out if SHJ has opened for airside passes in time for your visit you can contact thier pass office on this adress:

pass@sharjahairport.ae

==Other Spotting Locations==

===Sharjah Park===

If you can´t get airside, Sharjah Park is the best option for a safe place to observe and take photos from. It is located near the thresshold of RWY30. The main road from Sharjah town to the airport takes you there, roughly two miles after passing the terminal (on your left) you will see it on the right handside of the road.

Its a nice quiet park with a big mound from where you can see and photograph all arrivals on RWY30 or departures on RWY12. Best time is in the afternoon when the sun is behind you and most arrivals (if not all) arrive on RWY30. Unfortunatly the park is not always open. Friday it is open all day though and is quite busy as it is a day off for most muslims just like our sunday! Traffic is a bit slow but there are always some goodies worth waiting for and afternoons always give almost all the Air Arabia fleet returning to SHJ. Some afternoons I have seen 4 IL76´s within 2-3 hours and some of them doing some very interesting VFR approaches coming downwind and litteraly throwing the aircraft around on 3miles final, followed by a landing halfway down the runway.

==Locations to Avoid==

===Location===

If the park is not open the brave can take pictures from the park car park outside. I have done this for three years without getting caught, but always stayed in the safety of my car and being VERY descrete. I have heard of others having to spend an afternoon at SHJ Police station. The SHJ Police knows of aviation spotters (due to the airside passes) and hence deal with planespotters in a friendly matter.

==Other Spotting Locations==

===Location===

You can do landing shots at DXB, but stay in a car and use descretion. Runway 12 is usually used in the morning and untill mid day.

==Locations to Avoid==

===Location===

It seems that DXB Police is patrolling all areas within a certain distance to the perimeter fence. Stay at a distance when observing or photographing and use descretion. Do not hang around the perimeter fence.
==Official Spotting Locations==

==Other Spotting Locations==

===Location===

==Locations to Avoid==

===Location===

===Location===

==Locations to Avoid==

===Location===
