Wilmington International Airport is a public use, commercial service airport serving the southeast coast of the US state of North Carolina. Popular particularly among private and corporate users, it has a 24-hour customs facility on site to serve the more than 3,400 private aircraft that fly in and out annually. Located halfway between Miami and New York City, it creates a desirable, less congested entry point into the US.
Official Spotting Locations
The airport's official spotting location is adjacent to the control tower. Heading eastbound on Martin Luther King Jr. Pkwy, turn left onto Kerr Ave. Drive for about 3/4 of a mile. Turn left onto Control Tower Drive. There is a small parking lot just south, and immediately adjacent to the air traffic control tower, which provides great views of Runway 35 arrivals and departures.
