The airport is located in Shannon, County Clare, around 24 km (15 mi) from Ennis and 25 km (16 mi) from Limerick City. It is one of Ireland's three main airports (along with Dublin Airport and Cork Airport) and it offers flights to many destinations throughout Europe and the United States. The airport is also famous for having the longest runway in Ireland.
