Observation Deck
The entrance to the observation deck of Stuttgart's airport is located on the top floor of Terminal 3. There is a 2,50€ fee for adults, 1€ for teenagers under 16 and 1.50€ for handicapped people.
- The opening times are:
- April - September: 8:00 - 21:00h
- October - March: 9:00 - 18:00h
Since the observation deck is on top of the terminal buildings it is really long. There are a few light type aircraft on display including an Antonov 2. Unfortunately the terminal is to the north of the runway/apron so it is not an ideal place to take pictures except after approximately 18:00.
When aircraft are approaching on rwy 07 you can see them better, since the rwy 25 is on the other end of the airport. However there is a fence. Depending on what kind of lens you use you might be able to navigate in between. If not, photography opportunities won't be that great for you. Also the gates are a little further away compared to the observation deck at FRA. Other than that, it is a pretty good place to go spotting.
