Cork Airport is one of the three main international airports in the Republic of Ireland (Dublin and Shannon are the other two). Situated 5 miles(8km) to the south of Cork City Centre, the airport is the ideal gateway to the South West of Ireland. A number of regional and international destinations are served from Cork Airport. Stobart Air (Aer Lingus Regional) and Ryanair have a large presence at the airport along with Aer Lingus, which has four aircraft at based the airport, making it an important European hub. In 2007, Cork Airport handled 3.2 million passengers, making it the third busiest airport in the Republic of Ireland in terms of passenger numbers. The airport handled 2.4 million passengers in 2018.

Continue past the airport entrance on the N27 towards Kinsale. After the airport this road becomes the R600. Turn right at Bowens Cross which is the third junction to the right and the first which has roads to the left and right. After turning right the road reaches Lios Cross after around 1000 metres. Immediately before the crossroads there is a small amount of room to park on the left. Good views of the runway and approach with excellent photography.

Facilities and Transportation
State of the art terminal building, the largest public building in Munster, consisting of 30 check in desks & 8 departure gates. Shops include WHSmith & The Loop Duty Free. There's a cafe at the arrivals end on the ground floor called The Kinsale Bar & Café, a Refuel sub bar and WHSmith has a Costa Coffee Express self serve machine. After security, you will walk through the Loop Duty Free shop, stocking a wide range of cosmetics, jewellery, fragrances, gifts and gadgets plus Duty Free cigarettes and alcohol if you are flying out of the EU. In departures you will find FoodRepublic, a newly opened buffet restaurant serving breakfast from 0400am and then lunch and dinners from 1200 noon until the last flight departs, FoodRepublic also features Badger & Dodo barista bar. More for the coffee lovers, you will find an AMT kiosk right outside FoodRepblic. At the far end of departures outside Gate 6, there's a WHSmith, Craft Lane bar service food also and around the corner at Gate 8, there is a Swissport Aspire Executive Lounge. For kids there is a small play area next to AMT.
Bus Éireann operates a high frequency bus service to Cork City, Route 226/226A which serves the Cork Airport Business Park, Turners Cross, Cork City & Kent Railway Station. Route 226A terminates at the airport, however, Route 226 continues on to Kinsale, serving Five Mile Bridge, Belgooly & Riverstick along the way. Route 225, operates from Cork Airport to Ringaskiddy Ferry Port & Haulbowline Navy Base, serving Ballygarvan & Carrigaline. CityLink operate an Express bus service to Limerick & Galway.
Taxis are available outside the arrivals door.
There is no train station at Cork Airport however the bus Route 226/226A will take you direct to Kent Station, where you will access Cork's suburban rail network, along with Intercity Rail including services to Dublin, Killarney, Limerick & Tralee.
