Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport | Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport is the main airport serving the Louisville area in northern Kentucky. The airport was renamed in January 2019 to honor boxing legend Muhammad Ali, a native of Louisville. It's three-letter identifier is derived from the airport's original name, Standiford Field. SDF is home to the UPS Worldport, the main hub for shipping giant UPS. The hub can handle 115 packages each second. The airport itself is located on the south side of Louisville off of Interstate 264, or Watterson Expressway. The terminal has two concourses and 23 gates. In 2018 the airport handled 3.8 million passengers and 2.8 million tons of air cargo. | ||
